Gujjar & Bakkarwal community in Kashmir is unaccounted in population records . Why ?
The nomadic Gujjar & Bakkarwal community in Kashmir Valley has big population. Every family of them has thousands of goats 7 sheep even then they beg. They like severe cold season. in summer of Kashmir(June - October) they move to higher reaches of mountains in thick forests of Kashmir having heights of trees about 200 feet & in winter they come down to the plains. They live near line of control too & first know from which route militants r coming. according to local Kashmiri's their population is 500,000 to 800,000. There is no authentic account of their population on record. All of them say they are Muslims. Why is there no correct record of their population ? Only b coz they are noamds ?
The only Gujjars i know are from gujrat district Pakistan Punjab provine. Or Gujarat in Western India, maybe they are disrmininated against. Anyway Shoab Ahktar is a Gujjar, so is Mohammed Asif, both world class vbwlers for Pakistan, there are many more but i cant think of thier name
