HOW TO REACH 14 MILLION VOTERS IN 14 DAYS - FOR FREE!

Some call it door-to-door. Some call it precinct walking or canvassing. I call it How To Win This Election, Guaranteed, - On The Cheap!

1. 99% of us need the exercise. Walking is healthy and fun. If you don't believe me, just ask you favorite doctor. Seriously,… ask him yourself in person at the next Ron Paul Rally. Please don't call him at home. He very busy and won't be there.

2. Nothing is as effective as a personal endorsement. Whom are you more likely to believe, a friend or a TV commercial? A neighbors sincere advice or a Hollywood producer? A paid spokesperson or a volunteer?

3. It's FREE! It requires no gasoline, no car, no appointment, and no ones approval but your own. If you don't have the money to pay for 100 fliers, just call your Meetup Coordinator. That's all it takes.

4. Do it for your own personal self esteem. When this once in a lifetime opportunity is over, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you contributed your best effort to support your hero, change the course of history, and get your country back.

5. If you don't do it, and we loose, you are going to feel really, really, really BAD. You will be terribly upset, and extremely mad at yourself. So don't even go there. Guilt, Guilt, Guilt... :-) Just grab a clip board and take action NOW. Don't wait another day!

6. We will not win this election with expensive radio and TV advertisements. Just look at the Romney campaign. They've already spent 60 million dollars, and have not improved their national polls.

7. If 70,000 Meetup supporters knock on just 100 doors, we will quickly reach 7 million households, and approximately 14 million voters. The numbers are staggering. Actually, breathtaking! Wow! Amazing! Imagine the power of supporting our national campaign team with a national canvassing effort! If you just reach 7.2 households per day, in 14 days we're there!

8. No other campaign is doing it. Because no other candidate has the manpower to do it. We are the only campaign that is doing it. The Streets of Ron Paul are right outside our own front doors, and they belong to us.

etc., etc......

EFFECTIVE CANVASSING

It's been said that all politics is local. Knocking on some ones door is as local as it gets.

There is a small degree of salesmanship involved. Yes, you are making a sale. You are selling yourself as a sincere person with important information that you want to share.

This largely consists of three ingredients: 1. A warm genuine smile. 2. Enthusiasm. 3. A persuasive impassioned plea to take action now.

Enthusiasm is key. You either believe what you are saying or you don't. In our case, Ron Paul Supporters love and respect him, so our enthusiasm is natural and genuine. All the sales training in the world cannot take the place of enthusiasm.

The next step is to simply speak from the heart. If the election wasn't important to you on a personal level, you wouldn't be initiating contact. Nothing takes the place of telling them why you volunteered to support Ron Paul, and why you choose to spend your day knocking on their door. I would tell everyone you meet that you are a volunteer for the 2008 presidential election and that you are helping spread the word of your hero, Congressman Ron Paul.

My experience is the majority of people are actually flattered when they find out your business. They know you are not there trying to sell a product and earn a commission. Because of that, people are receptive to listen to what you have to say. But I'm getting ahead of myself just a bit.

Here's the steps to successful canvassing: 1. Preparation. Eat, shower, select your clothing, wearing a Ron Paul shirt, hat, or button is optional, gather up your fliers, clip board, voter registration forms, (whatever you have), choose your neighborhood (any will do just fine), and focus on having FUN! Start thinking pleasant thoughts about Ron Paul, our historic campaign, and start smiling. You must wear a smile at the front door. So start smiling before you get there. Put your cell phone on vibrate (very important). Here we go!

2. Open the screen door (optional). I don't like a barrier between us. I want to see them. I want them to see me. Head to toe, face to face. On the other hand, it is less intrusive behind the door. Experiment. Try 20 door with the screen open and 20 with the screen shut. Which one works best for you?

3. Knock loudly three times. Three distinct knocks (not four). People may be in the back yard, listening to music, hard of hearing, whatever... So make it a loud knock. But don't overdue it.

4. With the screen door still open, take one step backward. This gives them personal space. Stand straight, good posture, start smiling, and wait for them to open the door. Wait up to 30 seconds before knocking a second time. Don't rush them. They may be on the phone or in the bathroom. Waiting before knocking again shows patience and respect on your part.

5. Smile. When they answer the door, your smile needs to become larger and genuine as you state your business. Doing so sends the message that you are a friendly person, that you are happy and having fun, and is an unspoken invitation for them to do the same. A beautiful smile is disarming and very contagious. You'll never make a new friend or close a sale without it.

etc., etc................

THE HARDEST DOOR YOU WILL EVER KNOCK ON?

Which one is it? The very first one, of course. It's the person who lives right across the street from you. Just look out your front window and ask yourself, "Why haven't I walked over there and talked to him"? What's holding me up"? Just do that, and the next 99 doors will be a simple "cake walk".
