Questions About Canvassing

Some Questions taken from a Daily Paul user. - Should you try to hit every house in a neighborhood? If not which ones should you skip? Should you skip certain neighborhoods entirely? Hit every door unless they have a REAL Estate sign or handwritten no soliciting sign... We are not soliciting we are Reinstating Freedom... !!! Talk to everyone - How should you dress? Suit and tie? Or would this cause you to be mistaken for a Jehovah's Witness? Dress comfortable and somewhat professional. i.e. Polo Shirt, tucked in to blue jeans and tennis shoes. You can wear clothes that are clean and nice. ( I like to wear Green because it Says "HONEST" ) - Should you just hand out a slim jim and not bother the homeowners, or should you try to stay and convert them? Knock, Ring, Holler, Scream!!! You are taking your personal time to go to their house and it won't bother anyone!!! If the door gets shut quickly Put a huge smile on and go to the next house!!! - What time of day is the best for visiting homes? Before dinner? After? Mid-day? Weekends? Anytime after 10:00am and before about 8:30pm. 7 days a week! - Should you go alone or in pairs? Both! Either! Whichever! Pairs is fun Alone is fun! - What issues should you emphasize in your brief time with the homeowner? Ask them what issue is most important to them.. and talk about that. - I am running as a delegate - should I attempt to explain why voting for delegates is so important, or is this getting too in depth for an ice-breaker type meeting? Yes, Tell them that you are "the delegate" and need people to make a commitment Right Now! - Has anyone here had much experience with this? Any lessons learned would be valuable to me and to anyone else who's planning on beating the pavement. Yes, There is a lot of experience here http://www.RonPaulReveres.com
