Jewellery Makes A Great Mother's Day Present
With Mother's Day just around the corner, it's time for all the children to take a minute out and think about what to buy their mum.
Sadly my mum passed away a few years ago, so it's something I don't have to think about, but I have 2 kids of my own and they always buy me a little present. I have to shop around for something for my husband's mum as he doesn't have any idea about what she likes and would end up with a last minute gift of a bunch of flowers from the garage!!
From a personal point of view I’m especially keen on silver rings and have quite a large collection. It doesn't make any difference if it's cheap or expensive, just so long as it's in a style that I like. I am more than happy with a little ring from one of the High Street shops because to me it’s not about how much was spent, but the fact that they actually took the time to get me something.
Funnily enough last year they both gave me silver earrings. For kids they do have pretty good taste in ladies jewellery, so something good must have rubbed off from me.
It’s a pity the same can’t be said of the presents they got their dad last year for Father’s Day. They both chose men’s jewellery for him, and in all honesty neither piece was something my husband would wear. Never mind, perhaps this year they might get him a set of screwdrivers – that would certainly keep him happy. If it was something to do with his precious golf clubs he would be even happier. I have never met anybody so keen on a sport. In fact the only time my husband doesn't go out on the golf course is when it is shut due to thunder and lightning.
With all that in mind I have better make sure he hasn't planned a golf game for Mother's Day. Even though the kids buy me a gift, it's hubby who cooks my breakfast as the kids would be an absolutely disaster if let loose in the kitchen.
